That would be 8pm my time tomorrow... er, today even. Good thoughts are booked and confirmed for the gal that hugged me during the photo shoot at the crazy golf at Cape Cod.

See, I remember this stuff LOL!
    I'm mad, I know! LOL!

I can't leave my fingers and toes crossed or it will screw up my confident gait and firm handshake. I am relying on all of you beautiful people.

    Thanks so much.

Thanks everyone. Your good wishes mean the world to me.

My outplacement consultant has ordered me to finish reading up on the background material I have collected and then do something fun this evening. I'm not sure I can quite handle that. Perhaps I'll just relive Cape Cod (and that hug, Ian) in my mind.

I'll report in when it's all over.

    Love,

    Polly

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">So, I guess I can quit chanting "Sar-AH...Sar-AH". I started out with "Pol-LY", but a couple of the folks working here asked that I go outside. Maybe too much enthusiasm?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes! You can handle it. Leo's can handle anything with aplomb

Well, it is over and I suppose it went as well as it could have. It was a screening interview, and I was the first one scheduled, so it will be a while before I know if I will make it to the next round.

Hopefully none of the other candidates will wow this woman so much that she forgets me. I made sure to leave her the namce of several people to talk to for references. That should help a bit.

So, everyone can uncross those fingers and toes - I can bite my nails (in nervousness) all by myself.

Soooo.... What's the closest you've been to a lightning strike?

This afternoon I was working on the company's computer (I work at home), and there was no warning, no rumbles, no nothing, just a huge flash and bang! The tree right outside the window got hit. The limb that got blasted was about twenty feet up, the tree is less than ten feet from the window. Fried the cable (TV and Roadrunner), fried the cable modem on our computer, fried the power supply in the company's computer (but nothing else, oddly), scared the hell out of me and the dogs. In fact, one of the dogs went missing, took me half an hour to find her. She'd found a really good hiding place in the back yard and wouldn't come out. That scared me, too, I thought maybe she'd been vaporized.

Only one circuit breaker popped, for the master bedroom. Not the room I was in, it's on the other side of the house. Weird.

There are some interesting char marks on the aluminum siding where the cables come in.

I don't ever want to experience anything like that again. It was so strange... it was raining all day, but no thunder at all.

    Cheers, y'all.

Whoa, I think I woulda needed a change of shorts after that experience. I was nowhere near it, but my car got zapped one time when it was parked outside my work, but that's the worst that's happened to me regarding Lightning. You wanna talk Earthquakes, though, I've got my share of those stories, LOL.

    Glad you and your dog-children are all OK {HUGS}

Lightning huh? Well, I was at work when some fried some equipment in the top floor of the building we work in. A couple of years before that I lost a modem during a thunder storm.

I tend to disconnect power and phone lines during bad thunder storms ever since.

I do too... when I get a warning.

On the plus side, I now know how to remove and replace a power supply. It was easy, I was surprised how easy.

Very Important Step One: Unplug the computer....
